I love this brand of crates! It was the first and only brand that I bought for my dog when I brought her home 8 years ago. These durable crates are easy to clean and easy to assemble and disassemble. It even comes with a divider, which is perfect for crate-training growing puppies.
When my brother told me that he was buying the Lupine collar and leash for his dog, I decided to check it out. My first impression was that the collars and leashes were pretty basic for the price, but two things convinced me to buy them. First, there was a guarantee on all leashes. Yes, a guarantee on dog leashes and collars! I had never heard of such a thing. Lupine will literally replace any dog collar or leash that has been accidentally damaged from normal pet-related activities, including chewing accidents! That was an amazing selling point. Additionally, thousands of reviews raved about how long-lasting the leashes were. Sold! I had Kai's Lupine collar and leash for over 5 years, so I can attest to the quality and durability of their collars and leashes.
This is another essential that will last you a long-time, even if you have a powerful chewer. Get the Extreme Kongs for them though. These are durable, rubber dog toys that can be stuffed with food and frozen for an hours-long enrichment activity for your dog.
These dog beds are high-quality, and they come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and age levels. I recently purchased one of their orthopedic beds, and the dogs love to sleep on it. Sometimes, I even sit on it to play with them.
Dog Bowls
There are SO many dog bowls out there that it can be hard to choose. I'll help you! Find a high-quality raised dog feeder with detachable stainless steel bowls. Try to get a size that will accommodate your dog at its adult weight and height. Why? Stainless steel bowls last a long long long long time, so you won't have to worry about replacing them. Once your dog is older or you notice discomfort when eating on the floor, place the bowls in the elevated feeder. Voila! You only had to buy this once :) I really like this elevated feeder because it is also height-adjustable.
Car Hammock
I love car hammocks! I bought my first one shortly after getting my dog, Kai, and it was awesome for road trips. What I liked most about hammocks was that it prevented my dogs from attempting to climb into the front of the car. It also reduces the amount of hair (or even vomit. Yes, that happened before) that ends up on the seats or floors.
Vacuum Cleaner
This one should be a given, especially if you have a dog that sheds a lot. We have three dogs that shed a lot, and it's a little disturbing to see how much and how quickly their shed hair builds up. Honestly, if dogs could get fur wigs, our dogs would be a top supplier. To help combat the amount of hair that is around the house, we use this high-quality vacuum, and it gets all of that hair right up!
Dog Treats
This goes without saying, but I'll say it anyways. DOGS LOVE DOG TREATS! Lucky for you, there are probably thousands of dog treats that exist in the market. You have a lot to choose from, but these two are my absolute favorite treats to get for our dogs.
Zuke's Soft and Chewy Dog Treats: these are perfect for training.
Dog Shampoo
Once you get a dog, you'll know why baths are important. Trust me. Thankfully, there are a lot of shampoos out there. They can range from being good for killing fleas and ticks, soothing to itchy or sensitive skin, calming for anxious dogs, and more. It's great they have a lot of options, but it can feel overwhelming to sort through. My advice is to think about what you and your dog need then go from there. A shampoo that I am fond of is the earthbath Oatmeal and Aloe shampoo. It smells really good, and it contains all-natural and organic ingredients.
ID Tag
This is probably the most important thing on this list! It could be the one item that stands between your lost dog and home. ID tags are amazing. If your dog goes missing, an ID tag can help get them home quicker, especially if they aren't micro-chipped (highly-advised).
